Dead Ringer

User Summary

Dead Ringer is a game designed by Lance Mason and programmed by Darrell Etherington.

The player is placed in a 'Skimmer' driving along a road strewn with obstacles. The skimmer can turn left or right to avoid obstacles. Speed can be varied with up or down on the joystick and obstacles can also be blasted out of the way with the fire button, but shots are limited.

The object is to "Stay alive until time runs out". A timer counts down on the right hand side of the screen. To the far right is your skimmer's health, which starts at 99 and reduces by varying amounts when you hit an enemy. You have a total of three skimmers.

The title music is a chiptunes version of "Dead Ringer for Love" by Meatloaf.
