Description

Death Ride Kursk - Leibstandarte is an expansion game for Death Ride Kursk - Totenkopf. This game focuses on the battle for the actual advance on Prokhorovka and the Red Army counter-attack that hit it square on the head during 12 July 1943.

The game contains a supplemental rule book with some specific items related to the Leibstandarte's operation the base game is simply an extension of the base rules in Totenkopf. Units are modeled as German Platoons or Companies and Red Army Companies. The game includes the components for the Command and Control and Fire Support Enhancements. These make the game very interested and give you a real feel for the problems of ensuring your radio line of sight for communications are well sited.

There are extensive obstacles to overcome and combat engineering is well modeled. There are rules covering all the Battlefield Operating Systems and they integrate well together forcing players to make critical decisions that will effect the outcome of the battle and of each smaller engagement.

This game comes with 5 daily scenarios for 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13 July and 2 small scenarios that use extremely small footprints and can be played in an afternoon sitting or two. If you already own Totenkopf then you will be able connect this game with it and play the battle from the Psel crossing to the town of Prokhorovka. You'll experience nothing like it anywhere else.
