Debits and Credits

Game ID: GID0089372
Collection Status
Description

The deck of cards is shuffled, with 4 cards dealt to each player and the remaining forming a face down draw deck. The cards are either labelled as credits (having positive value) or debits (having negative value).

Beginning with the player to the left of the dealer, players play one card from their hand with the objective to make the sum total of card values equal to 25. This forms a “book” which is kept by the player achieving this objective, with the player to the left then playing a card to start a new pile.

If a player cannot play a card without exceeding the value of 25, they must place a card in front of them “in reserve”, similar to Skip-Bo. Cards may be played from a player’s hand or from their reserve, drawing a card afterwards from the face down deck when playing from their hand (to maintain a hand size of 4).

After all cards have been played, each player counts the “books” they have made subtracting the number of cards in hand and in reserve from that amount. The winner is the player with the highest total.
