Three solar days ago, an asteroid struck Shapley-K7 in the outer rim of the Belt of Despair. The impact destroyed the surface structures of the Prosser Psychiatric Institute, a medium-security facility for the criminally insane. However, the underground sections of the facility were largely undamaged and are currently running on auxiliary power. In total, nine inmates and three staff members remain alive and trapped below.
Having picked up the institute’s automated distress beacon, the E.S.S. Oslo*, a mostly automated freighter out of Grunthar-X13, has arrived and dispatched a small rescue
team. Having entered the facility through an emergency stairwell, the rescue team made their way down. The damaged
stairs gave way near the bottom, and the Legionnaires fell approximately 20 feet before landing at the bottom. The team regained consciousness relatively unscathed, only to find no way of climbing back up.
