Adventure hook for use with this map:
The Well: The small settlement of Fort Well has one of the few potable water sources in the desert along the main road outside of the main settlements. The people of Fort Well are watchmen who guard the water. They use high towers to keep an eye on the whole valley in particular the west and east roads. They are willing to exchange water for food for survival or bullets to put in brigands trying to steal from them.
As the group negotiates with the watchmen, Fort Well is approached by brigands trying to take over the fortress. With Fort Well as a base, the brigands can expand their operations all the way to the major settlement further down the road. The desperate watchmen cut the group a different deal. Kill brigands and get water. The brigands might offer them the same deal, kill watchmen and get water. It is up to the group to decide whose side they take. Or they may decide to run away as they fear getting shot in the crossfire between the two groups.
