Diavolo: Deck Builder

Game ID: GID0094050
Collection Status
Description

Descend into hell at vanquish its demons.

Deck Builder that can be played with a 40 card deck of standard playing cards; Either using an Italian 40 card deck or removing the 8s, 9s, and 10s, from a poker deck.

The game setup will remove the lower value cards to form the player deck and the rest of the cards remain as the enemy deck with the top 3 revealed as the enemy row. If the player can remove all the remaining enemy cards they win. If they can not perform a legal move they lose.

Players will perform actions each turn and each action is decided based on the suit of the card played:

Fighting - Eliminate a card from the enemy row

Banish - Move a card from the enemy row to the bottom of the enemy deck and eliminate a card from your hand.

Buy - Purchase any non-face card from the enemy row and add it to your hand.

Rest - Do nothing on your turn.

The final rule that requires some strategy is that the player may not take the same action twice in a row. Meaning, a player can not perform a fight and then another fight action. So while the Rest action might not do anything, it's the only action that can always be performed and can help players.

Players will start with a weak deck of cards and slowly buy stronger cards, cull weaker cards, and fight their way to victory.
