Die Kinder der Schatten ist das Auftakt-Abenteuer zur Kampagne „Purpurträume“. Dieses Abenteuer kann aber auch unabhängig von der Kampagne gespielt werden. Der D2go ist im Wyndland in einer Stadt namens Rokanokangesiedelt, doch er kann natürlich in jeder größeren Stadt überall in Caera spielen. Eine nähere Beschreibung des Landes und der Stadt findet sich im Fanwerk-Regionalband Wyndland: Der Ruf der Wölfe.Am Ende des Abenteuers finden die SC 6 purpurne Tränke und einen Schuldschein, lasse diese Beute einfach weg, wenn dieser D2go als einzelnes Abenteuer gespielt werden soll. Optional könnten dann auch alle vermissten Kinder gefunden werden.
