Your companion is dead, murdered in the middle of the jolly bustle that precedes the great tournament in Gareth. You came to the imperial capital with the intent of competing in the contests. Why murdered? By whom? You only know a few lines of the ballad your friend kept a secret. Did he have to die because of this song? Are you in danger as well? Do you too know too much? Who is the insidious murderer? The frowning knight over there or that shifty fellow? Maybe it is your opponent in tomorrow's contest? You shiver in the hot sunshine..."
