Divine Intervention: The Tomes of Melchior VIII - Holy Magic Spells

Game ID: GID0097883
Collection Status
Description

The theme of this supplement is holy war, so each spell is focused on the war, tactics, and acts of the divine. Paladins and clerics benefit the most from this supplement, with each getting a handful of unique spells in addition to the lion’s share of the common ones. Due to this, the average level of the spells in this book is slightly lower than the other Tomes of Melchior, so more spells can be added to the paladin’s spell list. Divine protection is a common throughline with a great deal of the spells. This manifests in a variety of different ways, from the obvious of healing and improving armor, to less obvious, such as issuing commands that allow your allies to attack or move to a more advantageous position.

A few spells also deal specifically with fiends and undead, and allow the caster to interact with possessed creatures, consecrate an area, or instantly slay the unholy. The divine is not only about protection, however, and there are plenty of new spells to dole out punishment as well. Radiant damage is the most common type in the book due to this, followed by bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing. Deus vult!
