You are all members of the crew of a squid ship named "The Second Chance." The group has been making a living as privateers, hunting down pirates for the reward and booty, under a charter from Andru, the Prince of Bral. Your last mission, during which you were again defeated by the infamous pirate Kobold Kane, left the ship heavily damaged and the pilot and half of the crew dead. Limping into Bral, currently located in an asteroid field in Realmspace, you put the ship into drydock and headed for your favorite place on The Rock, "The Welcome Inn."
