Dragon Reign is definitely more of a hack-and-slash setting, but GRAM’s focus on fun over combat simulation should keep rules lawyering to a minimum as the combat encounters are interesting without being tedious, and there will be some great role-playing opportunities for the players as they evoke their character qualities and highlight allegiances outside of the adventuring party for their own personal gain.
