From the introduction:
Draugrnacht is a small town, located in a dense shadowy forest of deciduous and coniferous trees. Whereas the treeline itself is dark, closed in and foreboding, large patches of graveyard where trees were once cleared dot the forest, leading to wide expanses of moonlit grassland, filled with long-forgotten headstones and monuments. The forest is nigh-impossible to traverse off the beaten paths, with dense undergrowth and small babbling brooks haphazardly strewn through the woods. Despite a temperate climate in the greater region, the air constantly feels cold, heavy and humid, with travellers seemingly unable to ever dry off completely. Dark clouds and frequent storms pass through the region with only a moment’s notice, and lightning is common as the humid air rises to meet drier upper atmosphere. The shrieks of ghasts, spirits, and other undead apparitions frequently echo in the distance, carried on the wind. All of this culminates in a gloomy, depressive atmosphere that renders deeper exploration of the most ancient grave sites, overgrown churches, and catacombs difficult if not impossible.
