Drive-Ins and DJs

From the introduction:

When I was in high school, listening to the radio was still a thing. The closest station was a weak classic-rock station., but the station from across the Bay came in crystal clear. Every Friday evening they kicked off the weekend with a DJ who only appeared in this one segment. Being high-schoolers, the pressures of the Monday-Friday grind were certainly taxing, and there was nothing more important than letting off steam with red plastic cups and a keg. On one particular Friday, as the DJ began his record-breaking weekend kick-off cry, a hoard of high schoolers chanted along, throwing cheap beer in the air as we did.
