From about 1979, Dave Arneson filed a series of lawsuits naming Gary Gygax and Tactical Studies Rules (TSR) as defendants. Among the exhibits submitted to the courts was a pre-publication, draft version of DUNGEONS & DRAGONS - noted here.
It is marked "DEFT'S EXH 13 7-18-79" and stamped "104".
In 2024 an information request to the court system produced an 854-page PDF containing various scans of lawsuit materials. This early version of the game appeared on pp. 554-652. It presents a typewritten draft of the game, typed on black-bordered paper, with numerous editing marks, insertions, and cross-outs.
