West of The Forge, and linked to it through a small railway, lie the Western Mines, an excavation site from which the dwarves dig their most precious ores. The site features a self-sufficient lodging area for miners and three small railways, needed to bring the ores to the forge. Most of the site features excavation tunnels and caverns. Some digging, however, led the dwarves to strange discoveries, such as a big hole in the floor which is said to lead to an ancient evil creature lair, or a mysterious statue with a gold skeleton lying beside it.
