Dynasty Tactics 2 is a turn based strategy game similar to Koei’s “Romance of the Three Kingdoms” series. It is the sequel to Dynasty Tactics, and has a similar feel in both gameplay and ambiance.
The player controls a faction from the Three Kingdoms era of China (Wei, Wu, or Shu) and attempts to unite China under their banner. Each turn the player plans moves for each of their army units on a tiled map, and if any units come in contact with an enemy, a tactical battle is opened to resolve combat. Several prepared tactics can be used in the tactical combats, to varying degrees of effectiveness depending on unit orientation and location. Allied generals can also be used to attempt to recruit neutral generals. Dynasty Tactics 2 adds more tactics, the ability to explore cities, a player evaluation system, and tactic chains to the features of the first game.
