"Publisher Prefatory"
In “The Shadow Over Innsmouth”, Lovecraft fleshed out the town of Innsmouth and its dark past. This story is well known amongst lovers of dark horror, fantasists, and roleplayers with a predilection towards games such as tremulus (and others in this vein). Predictability can remove the requisite tension for horror to thrive, so liberties have been taken with the source material to restore some of the frisson familiarity otherwise takes away. Hence, the title of this work, Echoes of Innsmouth. Echoes begin from a source: a voice, a call, a cry, a scream, and are changed, mutated, and altered by distance, clarity, and the like. Liken this to jazz, where each incursion into Innsmouth is somehow familiar, yet different enough to intrigue even the most jaded Lovecraftian aficionado.
