Educational board game 'Ekosystem" is designed for high school students of grade VIII which are familiar with ecology. Purpose of this game is to help students revise information about ecology.
Game box includes: 12 tiles with questions and tasks, chart with correct answers, 4 pawns and a dice.
Game is played by 4 players. They randomly choose pawns' colours and thus are assigned names: green – producer, blue – primary consumer(herbivore), red – secondary consumer(carnivore), black – decomposer(saprotroph). Green pawn moves first, next is blue, then red, and black last. Players move their pawns on the board by the number of fields indicated by the dice.
The are 12 marked fields on the board. Whenever a player's pawn steps on any of those fields he takes a questions and tasks tile with the number of field he stepped onto. He has to read a question or task aloud an immediately answer it. Illustrations near the board's edge might help. Answer is then checked with the chart.
The winner is the player who acquires the most points. For every correct answer player is awarded 3 points. Bonus for track completion: 1st place – 3 points, 2nd place – 2 points, 3rd place – 1 point. For incorrect answers players have to skip a turn. If there are any unanswered questions behind the last pawn, players that have reached finish line can try to answer them.
