The 5 zoo area cards are laid out, the animal cards are added, all other cards are stacked face down, each player has 7 cards. Whoever's turn it is rolls the dice and moves the game piece, then he can lay or discard cards and draw new ones. Whoever completes a row with food, baby animals, scales with the animal keeper or regardless of cards laid with the veterinarian takes the row for victory points. When all the animals in an area are cleared, the player who has collected the most cards wins.
