Encumbrance Made Easy

Description

Encumbrance can sometimes be a difficult thing to stay on top of and track for both you and your players. Some DMs do away with it altogether as a limiting factor of the game. This guide uses a system that is easy for both you and your players to keep track of, along with an item storage sheet that you can give to your players for their inventory. The system is not based on the weight of individual items, but on the size and number of items a person can carry. It includes both worn equipment, and storing in bags. Whether it is weapons and armour, or bags and gear, this accounts for all items that a character has on them. It limits on what people can put in their bags, to stop players having a video game like effect where they are carrying lots of weapons in a seemingly bottomless bag. A character's strength score determines how much they can carry in a simpler fashion, and the inventory sheet provided makes it easy for your players to keep track of everything.

If you are looking for an easier way for you and your players to keep track of their adventuring gear, this is a tried and tested, effective way to keep it simple.
