From the introduction:
You are in a dangerous, far away land full of treachery, terror and treasure. It is rumoured that royal blood courses through your veins. To claim you seat in the pantheon of fame you must become at least a level six hero and gain control of six kingdoms. You must also explore to the farthest breadth and width of this ever-changing land.
In order to do this you must venture forth and accumulate gold through fair means and foul. You must gather to your side a range of companions who will assist you in overcoming impossible odds. At some point you will establish and build your own castle. Once you do this you will become known in the land, perhaps at this point for nothing more than owning a humble, drafty, half-built castle.
You aren’t, however, the type to remain as the laughing stock of your fellow, more mightier kings. As your influence gradually grows so will your enemies. They will react badly to your increasing power and will attempt to stop you, violently at times.
Life will become more complicated as you find yourself sending your companions on various missions throughout the land in order to further you aims. A king, a successful king, must learn to weave a web of strategy and intrigue.
Power and glory doesn’t come to those who sit and wait for it.
