Description

Eukao – The Hill of Ukāo is a simple abstract board game.

Players take turns selecting a stack of tokens on the board where their color is on top. They then pick up the entire stack and redistribute the tokens one by one in a straight line, starting with the bottom token. The first player to create a stack of three consecutive tokens of their color wins the game.

To win, players must strategically plan their moves while thinking ahead. Despite its simple rules, the game offers deep tactical play, making it enjoyable for both children and adults.

Part of the “Landscapes of Japan” Series – Volume 1

Eukao is the first release in Sui Works’ Landscapes of Japan series.

The theme of this first game is Biei Town in Hokkaido. Located in the heart of Hokkaido, Biei is known for its gently rolling hills and lush, vibrant nature. With colorful patchwork fields of wheat, sugar beets, legumes, and potatoes, the town is a visual delight and is officially recognized as a member of “The Most Beautiful Villages in Japan” alliance. Efforts continue to preserve and share its scenic beauty for future generations.

This game uniquely expresses Biei’s landscape and culture through the mechanic of stacked tokens. It’s easy to learn, even for beginners, yet offers enough depth to satisfy seasoned board gamers.

Enjoy a unique gaming experience while taking in the serene charm of Biei’s hills.
