Evil Democracy: 1932 makes players the leader of one of three European countries: Germany, France, or England. The game takes place between 1932 and 1935, a political and historical turning point for Europe at the time. The immediate objective of the game is to prevent rival political parties from winning elections and usurping your power. Your secondary goal is to amass as much power as possible, equipping your chosen country to dominate European and global affairs. Players have a number of options available to them in these pursuits. There are traditionally democratic options to defeat opponents and win elections, but players are also free to operate outside of the political, cultural, and legal frameworks to preserve their power.
Assembling party members to harass and intimidate opponents, run fake stories in newspapers, and rigging elections are just some of the ways players can choose to run their party and country. From racketeering to establishing new doctrine on the fringes of legality, your party and country are yours to run as you see fit. But beware! Should your actions prove unpopular with citizens, your opponents can use public opinion against you!
The game features nearly 30 playable, period-specific political parties across the three countries. Each country presents its own scenarios and include various regions you must manage as leader. Players are given control of the hiring/firing process for political leadership, allowing you to customize party leadership structure as you see fit. This strategic element is crucial to executing your short and long term political goals, with over 200 leaders to choose from. The game also features the ability to publish propaganda via a party newspaper, of which there are multiple types of articles that can be written. Also included are dozens of unique political doctrines that can be enacted, allowing players to take many different approaches across multiple play throughs.
