User Summary

Express Raider is a two-stage action title originally released in arcades, and later ported to the ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64. The game has the player attempt to rob a train as a bandit in the Wild West.

The first segment of each stage has the player board the train while the battle the banker and avoid coyotes. Once on the train, the player moves from car to car avoiding hazards, including shovelfuls of coal, bottles, and bullets. They battle with enemies on each car, and if they reach the train engine the player obtains the loot and moves onto the second segment of the level.

After getting the loot, the player rides off on a horse and must shoot enemies that appear in the train carriage windows. A woman will appear occasionally, and if the player shoots her they lose a life. Completing the shooting sequence restarts the level with a harder difficulty.
