Twelve Lineages

Anutarn. The anutarn are believed to be the descendants of a pack of fey warriors who once served the Jackal, an ancient fey warlord who attempted conquest against the fledgling nation of the Autumn King thousands of years ago. The anutarn are those who saw the darkness and chaos and anger of what the Jackal had become and chose to live a life of peace, preparing to teach those who would likely be affected by the curse in the future. They are a kindly and reflective people who deeply believe in second chances.

Bol'wa. The bol’wa, literally meaning “cursed”, live in a constant state of discomfort. Drawn to Lunet after Koran and the moonseekers arrived, the bol’wa are actually a sun-dwelling people, which makes living in twilight a never-ending struggle. The softness between night and day allowed for the bol’wa to stay without harm in the valley, but they were not made for the lack of light. Over the generations, the bol’wa have slowly evolved to thrive in twilight.

Fays'kas. Emissaries, dancers, athletes, messengers, or hunters, fays'kas are beings of light and speed whose most essential joy is manifested when they are in motion. Few things are more beautiful than a celebration organized by fays'kas, as the light and color they produce would make the most accomplished painter cry.

Imwa'lur. The imwa’lur are star-fueled beings; they strengthen and weaken with the movement of the stars, holding a special reverence for the cosmos and spending their young life studying the twilight skies. The imwa’lur have called Lunet their home since before Koran and the moonseekers were called by Devana. The imwa’lur are astronomists first, though due to their unique connection to the stars, they can be formidable adversaries if pushed.

Menoad. The children of Aegala were seen as strange fey, touched by the power of an equally strange woman. There were fifty lineages of menaods at the beginning, but the traits that characterized them disappeared with the passing of generations, and although sometimes one of them is born unexpectedly into a family, they have become almost a legend.

Misterellus. A construct created by combining the Sybily’dras magic and the magic of the morellan. During the years of its initial creation, these creatures were used to offer protection from outside threats. As time went on, the misterellus began to develop sentience that rivaled that of their creators. The High Council at the time thought it beneficial to keep them as such, for the desire for life within these constructs was an unknown territory that they wished to explore.

Moon Troll. Trolls have often been drawn to the valley of Lunet, as many of them far prefer the soft twilight to the harsh sun of the rest of the Fey Realm. Over time, a particular group of trolls found themselves transformed by Devana’s light and teachings, becoming an entirely new people: moon trolls. Much smaller and elegant than their larger cousins, moon trolls are far more attuned with the shoggri manifestations within themselves and its deeper connection to the Moon Mother, as they have named Devana.

Morellan. Spirits of Nature tied to the land even before the creation of the Oscru’quies Aman Palatinate. At birth, their bodies are made up of elemental energy resting in a dormant state. When they get older, these spirits will be attracted to a specific type of magical energy and slightly react to it when encountered. The Morellan coming-of-age ritual takes place in the Temple of Morankanell. Named after the Morellan’s ancestor, the Temple of Morankanell holds a variety of different plant life that will become the new vessels of the Morellan, which will finally give them a physical form that will allow them to interact with the world around them.

Oaken. Peaceful willowfolk, the oaken are living trees who are often thought to be the first guardians and servitors of Devana. When Koran and his moonseekers arrived in Lunet, they were greeted by Old Robogola, the oldest of the oaken who had dwelled in the valley for centuries, waiting for Devana’s exiles to come there. Today, the oaken still wander Devana, often dwelling in the wetlands to help travelers and pilgrims alike who might become lost.

Somnialte Gargoyle. While most of the gargoyle clans of the world are protectors and defenders of the physical, the somnialte are a clan who defend and protect the dreams and subconscious of their charges. It is rumored that the somnialte have their origins as creations of the Menalux of the Ridgechain, given that many of their aeries are built around the great buttes, however, this could just be happenstance, as the buttes are much older than the Ridgechain. Many cultures might consider these beings of stone to be guardian angels, but to creatures from Beyond who poison dreams with nightmares, the somnialte are terrifying.

Vampire. While you can trace your line back to the Nosferatan Union, you have long been away from that dank place, and because of that, you have become a new people, blessed by Devana and peaceful in your new lives. While your ancestors drank blood and gore, you drink moonlight and starshine, your thirst long since quenched.

Umu. A gentile people who dwelled in the high mountain peaks surrounding the valley, the umu welcomed Koran and his people, the arrival having been foretold to them by Devana, who they call Lu’mai. The umu are scholars and astrologers, having built massive observatories to watch the stars and moons of Faerie, said to even be able to pierce into the mortal realm.
