Birdwatching and awarded game designer: An Interview with Elizabeth Hargrave

Marcus Brissman – Feenix board game editor and our man at Spiel in Essen each year – met Elizabeth Hargrave at Spiel. They talked for a while and followed up with an interview. Read about Wingspan, game design and future plans.

Graeme Davis on how to build a campaign

Everyone loves an outlaw tale. Outlaw campaigns access a world of themes and motifs that are instantly recognizable in any setting. They provide ready-made enemies and allies and support a range of adventures from all-out action to nervewracking stealth and political maneuvering.

Violent Vikings by Pete Nash

Lawless, lawlessness... For many people, the first mental association when hearing that word is the Western genre of lone gunslingers and Mexican banditos. For me however, lawlessness is an ever present state of affairs throughout all human history. It emerges whenever two conflicting cultures struggle to impose their own beliefs upon the other, when authoritarian rule becomes too repressive to those it rules over, or in regions where there are no local officials to enforce the law.
