Cursed weapons have been a part of fantasy roleplaying games since the earliest days of Dungeons & Dragons. Mostly, their effects are quite mechanistic and dull: -1 to hit and damage may work well with the game system, but it hardly captures the grand scale of curses found in myth and folklore. Several months after suffering an earthquake, the city of Meeros has slowly recovered. Its patron god Myceras has been grudgingly placated after the cult heroine Anathaym of the Scarlet Spears, was cleared of betraying the city to an army of minotaurs. Though the man behind the machinations to depose Queen Herathos was crushed to death, the ghost of Misogynistes does not lie quietly in his mausoleum ... nor those who supported him in his attempted coup.
