Description

A game of gaining and holding power

You are either a monarch of a small kingdom, or a member of the nobility under that monarch, owning land that provides you with an income you can spend to either pay taxes to the monarch, or hire troops to protect yourself and your allies, or attack your enemies.

Either way, you’ll need help from your fellow players. If you try to stand alone, you won't make it very long. But who should you trust, and how much can you really trust them?

This game has multiple winners. The monarch always wins. Depending on how many players are playing, either the one or two of the other nobles that have paid the most money in taxes to the winning monarch will also win. You’ll get gold and crops to sell every turn, and you’ll have to decide how to spend them to secure your future. Will you try to win by allying yourself to the current ruler? Or will you support someone else’s claim to the throne? Or will you try to take the throne yourself?
