While during the spring of 1037 BF the ice melts on the Letta, the heroes are caught up in the adventures of an old acquaintance, that brings her away from her new home. Hardly back to Paavi they are both witnesses and victims of an unprecedented trade war, driving the city to the brink of ruin. After that they must mess with their old rivals, the snow foxes mess, before they are spirited away in the far reaches of the Grimmfrostöde.

The heroes fall deal with the fate of Paavi and of its inhabitants, set a course for the future, win strong allies and also create powerful enemies, especially Duchess Geldana II.
