From the introduction:
A Zombie Lord lives in a secluded spot on the riverbank, trying to construct a final grave for himself with the aid of his zombie slaves. Because of the nearness to the water, the barrow dug constantly fills with muddy, soon brackish water. The Zombie Lord cannot grasp this fact, however, so he and his minions are doomed to this task for all eternity. It is during this task that the characters find the Zombie Lord and his slaves.
