From the introduction:
Long before halflings, and even before humans, dragons roamed the earth and patrolled the skies. Some believe these ancient beings are mere beasts. It’s true, they are enormous and mighty creatures with razor sharp teeth, eviscerating claws, and crushing tails, but dragons are also innately magical. They wield arcane power as naturally as you or I breathe air. And speaking of breathing! Dragons have unique glands that allow them to spew dangerous and volatile magical energy.
But that’s not all. Dragons can live for thousands of years and possess keen intelligence. They spend centuries growing in size, power, and knowledge, making them dangerous foes if crossed.
This guidebook is as a record of some of the most interesting dragons I’ve met on my travels, but also a warning. Tread warily around these impressive beings so not to find yourself cooked in a torrent of fire breath. Or acid breath. Or lightning breath.
