Description

From publisher blurb:

Essential Enemies 8: From Underground is a third party monster manual for use with Old-School Essentials and other old school fantasy role-playing games. This issue features monsters that dwell underground.

This zine contains the following monsters:

The Bisector: A wizard-spawned abomination hunted by adventurers eager to harvest its flammable guano, which it also uses as a weapon. If you seek it, beware, lest you become the hunted.
Blind Cave Haunter: Large and awkward in subterranean spaces, they will haunt you if you kill them.
Clay Golems: They are building themselves a god down there, deep under the ground. When will it awaken?
The Crawling Head: Brain birds reproduce parasitically, by capturing foolish dungeoneers and using their bodies as a nest, even as they still live, begging for death.
Dark Elf Witch Cult: In the dankest of caves, the coven of dark elves worship a flaming green skull and in exchange, it dispenses foul wisdom and other gifts.
The Eyeball Syndicate: A criminal gang of giant, floating eyeballs, with arms and teeth, even. They have their hands in drugs and burglary right now, but their leader is always looking for a wizard to eat.
The Giant Hunger: They say he was a werewolf before he was corrupted by the purple crystals in the dead city. Now he cannot get enough of them.
Lamia: They come up out of pits in the earth to terrorize those who wander too far into the wilderness, with their panther-like bodies wreathed in lightning and flames.
Myconians: Once they were just wizards, but now these mushroom-men are something more. But this evolution came with a price, for they must consume the brains of human in order to maintain their powers.
Pygmy Cave Trolls: They seem like miniaturized trolls, complete with the same regenerative powers. But they are made of fungus, and should not be eaten.
Scorpionhead: The herald of a dead god, this weird mutant roams the dungeon, offering communion with the god that has yet to be born.
Suckering Worms: Bird-beaked and slithering, these beings from another world run the most prestigious casino in all the monsterlands. What will you wager?
