In the month of Peraine in the year 1036 BF the Freibund of of Festum sends a trade trek to Paavi expected to protect the interests of this young Trade Organization and establish a branch. With very different motivations, and as the voice of different aventurian groups the heroes accompany this wagon trek to the far north. Once there, they are involved in the events surrounding the display of the corpse of a mysterious serial killer ... and this is only the beginning of a vortex of initially unconnected events, in which center the heroes soon find themselves in.
Frostklirren is the first part of "Erben des Schwarzen Eises" (Heirs of th black ice), an epic trilogy of The Dark Eye. In the Far North of Aventuria the heroes experience in a dozen shorter or longer adventures the consequences of the demise of a heptarchy, and help to overcome a remnant of Glorania, Nagrach's icy breath. They also face a much mundane task, namely to help the rightful heir to the throne of the Duchy of Paavi.
