This is a carefully crafted box insert/organizer for the game and helps organize all the game materials, including the Kickstarter stretch goal components! Includes organizer compartments for tiles, resources, coins & victory points, as well as individual compartments for each of the player meeple sets. And to round things out there is the "sporran" divided compartment for what is left over!
All compartments fit neatly in the box and hold the individual Chronicles boxes snugly in place. Each main section has its own lid that keeps components from getting tossed about.
The organizer comes in 3 materials to fit your budget:
Draftboard - This is an 1/8th inch thick engineered wood product for the budget conscious. It has an external feel like paper but is rigid and durable. Because it does not have a sealer coat on it, it may over time pick up marks from normally handling. If that doesn't bother you, you can certainly leave it like that, or you can put a light clear-coat finish over it after it has been assembled. This material is shipped with a protective film on both sides which serves to protect the surface from smoke damage from the laser as well as to protect it from marks during shipping. I personally feel this is the material that provides the best balance between cost and quality.
Birch Plywood - Also a budget option, this is made out of 1/8" plywood. I lightly sand before cutting with the laser. It will not have protective tape applied, so you will see some smoke marks on the edges as a result of the laser cutting process. Some people like this look, but if not, these marks can be reduced or eliminated with light sanding prior to or after assembly.
Sanded and Finished Basswood Plywood - This is a premium material. It is sanded and finished on both sides and protected during lasering with protective tape on both sides (so no smoke marks). The end result will be a beautiful, sanded and sealed product that will last for many years and still look like new! This material is much more expensive to obtain hence the higher cost for choosing an organizer insert made from this.
Everything comes flat-packed and requires assembly. It’s fun and easy though and no glue is required.
