The Gradual Gritty Realism Resting Rules is for D&D games in which the recommended 6 to 8 encounters per long rest cannot be achieved. It will spread the regeneration of resources (hit points and spell slots) over several days, with characters regaining 10 to 30% of their hit points and spell slots per long rest. These changes make the game a little bit more realistic and will balance it so that 1 combat encounter per day can still challenge the party and still use the resource attrition model that is the strategic foundation of the game.
