The West is dying.
Not the actual land, that’s still here, for now. Not the people either, they’re mostly thriving. But the idea, the concept, the open space. The emptiness is being filled in. The potentials are collapsing. The oil rigs are going up, the train tracks are going down. The law is moving in.
You came out here for the same reason the others did. To seek a new life, to run away from something, to seek your fortune. To eke that little bit out in the West that’s worth having.
Problem is, the West is dying.
