A solitaire roleplaying game of unknown horror set in the Great War

The game takes place during an alternate-history version of The Great War. The German Spring Offensive has been quite successful. Many believe the war must soon end with a German victory. Over the past years, the Germans have introduced numerous new methods of warfare and the Allies have responded in kind. Strategic bombing, long-range artillery, poison gas, machine guns, mortars, rockets, and tanks have all been used with devastating effect. Now it is late July, 1918, and the German attacks continue. An initial major German thrust east of Reims seems successful at first but soon enough bizarre reports began to filter back to Allied headquarters. The French Fourth Army, commanded by Henri Gouraud, has seemingly vanished from the face of the earth, along with the attached U.S. 42nd Division, leaving miles and miles of trench virtually empty and dozens of artillery battalions silent. The massive German First and Third Armies, commanded respectively by Bruno von Mudra and Karl von Einem, have curiously not seized this obvious advantage. Indeed, even the local civilians appear to have... emigrated...
