Description
From the introduction:
The Cloister class satellite sits in a narrow band of classification between “space station” and “really big escape pod.” They’re cheap to build (in a relative sense) easy to maintain (also in a relative sense) and can be kept in good working order with a minimal crew and occasional supply drops. On the whole, it’s a wonderful setup for working in isolation. With a Cloister in place around a planet, a crew has their own work space, their own living area, a small dock for a single ship, all the essential control rooms, and the peace and autonomy to do what they want to do without being bombarded with all the things that come with a land-locked lifestyle. They also have a nice view, if a long drop to visit the family.
