The characters are waking up in a deserted inn and on the ground floor, they find a mysterious object, the first one of a series that will lead them to a cursed clearing and to Bérisse, the dispossed heir of the knight of Dérenne. The poor young lady can only be saved thanks to the characters who may either restore justice and her honor or throw the entire region into the dark Mouth of the Void.
Caught between savage murders, paranormal manifestations and political plots, the characters will fight with the troops of an Earl who wants to seize the fiefdom of Dérenne, which is not his and which will prove to be hard to give back to the bastard girl who is its rightful heir...
