From the introduction:

Heyoka is the name of the World referred to in the common tongue of humanity. It has existed since times unknown and secrets of its past have been lost to the sands of time, perhaps only preserved in the memories or archives of immortal beings who still happen to dwell in the forbidden places of the planet. The common creation myth is that the world was formed by the six Gods and Goddesses of humanity, but that their first creations were a race of beings who were given the blood of the divine.
