In Season 2, Episode 3 of the Web series Video Game High School, the character Ki creates a video game based on the Season 1 exploits of the main character, Brian.
The amount of art created for the in-universe video game was such that the show crew decided to release a real-world version of it. Thus they teamed up with Newgrounds to create a full version of High School Video Game: The Video Game High School Video Game.
The game follows the overall story arc of the first season of the series, in which Brian becomes accepted at the prestigious VGHS but runs afoul of trouble with resident hotshot, The Law. The story progresses via several minigames, spanning multiple genres.
