HISTORIAE MUNDI: A HISTORY OF THE KNOWN WORLD is a collection of stories, legends, maps, and illustrations detailing the history of the Known World, the fantasy setting of Mark Smylie's Artesia graphic novels, the novel The Barrow and its (eventual) sequels, and the roleplaying game Artesia: Adventures in the Known World (with any luck to be released in a new edition called Sword & Barrow). A system-neutral sourcebook presented to entertain, inform, and inspire, with an extensive timeline and glossary, HISTORIAE MUNDI maps and explains the evolution of the kingdoms, empires, and peoples of a diverse and complex fantasy setting.

A system-neutral companioin volume, GEOGRAPHIAE MUNDI, a sourcebook and tour of the Known World in the present day of the novels and graphic novels, is in preparation.
