Horror Curses: Lycanthropy and Vampirism

Game ID: GID0161368

Description

Who wouldn't like to be a mighty werewolf or a mysterious and sensual vampire? They are, after all, two of the most iconic monsters of the horror fantasy. Sadly, the official rules for werewolves and vampires playing characters are far from good. If you follow them, you will end with an overpower character if you are a vampire, or a disappointing one if you are a werewolf. The alternative rules presented here try to fix that.

This document includes rules for contracting vampirism and lycanthropy and their consequences. Using these rules, becoming a werewolf or a vampire will give you traits that are just for flavor, features that will increase your power (regeneration, resistances, special senses, etc.), some mechanical drawbacks (vulnerabilities, special survival requirements) and great role playing potential. Both curses also give players the option to access to even more powerful abilities if they surrender to the dark side of the curse. Thus, players can choose to give up the most powerful abilities of their curses and to live in a way that will not create too many problems with normal people, or they could embrace the curse, gain incredible power, and face the consequences of their acts. The choice is yours.
