Unlike other humans born in an enchanted forest, kemonomimi were not just touched by magic but physically reshaped by it. A kemonomimi human will be born with the ears and tail of an animal. Some of these humans can trace their lineage back to a furfolk or dragonborn relative but that is often not the case. Kemonomimi are common enough in enchanted forests that they are widely accepted by the other creatures that live there.
However, those that choose to leave their enchanted forest home often have a harder time in regular civilization due to their appearance. They are often met with suspicion and distrust in smaller settlements and are more likely to find better hospitality in a racially diverse city. More often than not people are suspicious because they assume the human was cursed with the form and believe them to be trouble.
