The Hunter is meant to be something of an alternative to the traditional Tolkien style ranger of 1st and original edition, essentially combining the 2nd edition ranger with the archer, removing spellcasting and adding a hunting pet (ranging from dogs and cats to an emu and warthog) and a few optional archery rules.
Although primarily intended for the 1st advanced edition of the worlds first fantasy role-playing game, tables are included for the original and expert editions.
