Description

"Yokai" is a class of supernatural monsters, spirits, and demons in Japanese folklore. Some are malevolent and others are mischievous, or occasionally a few of them even bring good fortune to those who encountered with them. The name of the game, Hyakki-Yagyo (百鬼夜行), meaning one hundred Yokais' night parade, is based on a popular style of lore where people get together and take turns to tell Yokai (or ghost) stories one by one. When the hundredth story is told, it was believed that a real Yokai is summoned and appears in front of the folks.

In this game, players are Yokai storytellers. But you tell your own Yokai stories by collecting different and beautiful Yokai cards and place them as separate sets based on their suits and numbers. In each round, each player take turns to draw from open Yokai cards into their hands and place a set of cards (for example, four cards in sequence with the same suit, three cards of the same number with different suits, etc.) Each set of cards represents different ghost stories. A game goes until one of the players score 10 points in total by repeating rounds, just like Yokai stories goes on and on all through the night...
