Everybody thought it was an instance of the infamous "Down-East" humor when a lobster man radioed us that there was a large iceberg and several smaller bergs in the area. The Captain broadcasted an "iceberg warning" over the ship's intercom and we all had a good laugh. We stopped laughing when a chunk of ice punched a hole in the hull and the ship began its descent into the cold Atlantic.
