Ike's Guide to Magical Tattoos

Magical tattoos are a means of applying castable magical spells and abilities directly onto the skin of a creature. These tattoos utilize magical inks created by spellcasters, much in the same way as spell scrolls are crafted. Although the tattooist must train for many years to learn how to apply these magical inks, they do not need to be spellcasters themselves, although an understanding of the magical arts is very common. A tattoo's magical potency is intrinsically linked to the amount of ink used in the process and, by proxy, its overall size. Less potent tattoos are generally small in size, cost less, and take less time to apply.
