This should only be a pleasant visit at an old acquaintance, who owns a farm near the city of Havena. But suddenly a fire broke out in a barn - and there are signs that this fire was not an accident at all. The hero is drawn into a vortex of anomalies centering on more than just the sale of a field in upstate Havena. The leads go to the recent past of the royal city at the mouth of the Great River, but also to distant Andergast.
