User Summary
In 1989, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade was adapted into both a graphic adventure and an action game, with the reasoning that both game genres served to duplicate different aspects of the Indiana Jones experience. This approach was repeated in 1992 with Hal Barwood's original Indy adventure, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis - though originated as a much-acclaimed graphic adventure (and also adapted into a comic book), the story was also given this little-remembered action game treatment.
As with the graphic adventure, the story concerns the adventures of Indiana Jones and companion Sophia Hapgood as they race against Nazi agents to uncover the mysteries of the fabled kingdom of Atlantis. The gameplay is presented with an isometric perspective.
